I would say so - not much different from using Stork + butter, say.0

I think Lurpak is ok for baking but butter is best.
OH is a chef and wont use anything other than butter for cooking and baking (hence why I need to lose a few pounds!)

I use lurpak spreadable in cooking and it's always been fine. Yes I prefer whole butter, but the kids like the spreadable! You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

hi.. thanks for that.....i must admit... i normally use butter in cooking etc....as it does make things taste fab.
... but rather than buy butter at the mo.... when i got loads of lurpak ( about 70 tubs..:D )....i will use the lurpak for everything.....
also got a load of vouchers coming for free packs of anchor spreadable ...:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
 @ 70 tubs! what on earth... no im not even gonna ask....well done you for getting so many so cheap but whats the use by date on them
i think this could be a new challenge to mse`rs to find recipes for you to use them all up

i had vouchers for free packs of lurpack...... i had in total 150 vouchers:D
as the date on the vouchers were 30-11-06 i had to use as many as i could....by that date.....some i used off my normal shopping without buying it.. but that was a bit hard so... i bought the product.... my mi.l freezer is FULL
of lurpack.... and i stil have 31 vouchers left to use even though the date is gone... i will still try and use them...
that's why i just needed to clarify that i could use them in my cooking.....as what's the point of buying butter.. when i got all those tubs of lurpak:D
plus i have some vouchers for free anchor spreadable...:D
i buy the vouchers on ebay.... and the lurpak ones were really cheap......
at the end of the day... i feel its moneysaving.....as i will use it all.... ok it will take me a while..... but its in the freezer so ....its not going to go off....Work to live= not live to work0 -

Lurpack spreadable is a blend of butter and vegetable oil. susank you are thinking of the light one which has water in it!
I use it for baking fairly regularly when I have run out of butter or need soft stuff for cakes and it is fine, better than marg, not as nice as all butter. It is good for frying with - eg mushrooms as the oil stops content helps stop the butter from burning.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Not only is it OK for cooking but I have had no problems with freezing it either and it looks as though you are going to need to freeze some, judging by the amount you have.
It is odd that Lurpak spreadable is often available in different ways for very little money. They must have a Lurpak mountain somewhere!0 -

I would hope the OP has used it all up by now, 8 years later.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
