I need to up my income over the summer. Some stuff needs doing to the house that I just don't have the cash for. So I need to make it somehow.

I can't get another job as I'm my mothers carer and thus any money made would go on care for her (no, she's not entitled to it) for when I was at work, thus would be pointless.

I have searched the house and there's naff all here worth putting on ebay. I know there's survey sites but that's obviously not much. So I thought about getting a from home job. But maybe I can't see for looking but all I can find is the scam types.

So is there any actual none scam paid jobs that can be done from home for decent cash (baring in mind I live on carer's allowance of £50 a week - I consider minimum wage amazing, so it doesn't have to pay massively).

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I have searched but as I said, knowing me I can't see for looking.

Thanks.
Sigless

Have a look on freelancer.com - there's tons of opportunities.

Thanks. Had a look and TBH, I don't quite get it.

Read the faq and I'm still none the wiser. You join, bid for a job with a vague description? I don't really get the bidding part. I see bids with various amounts for various days.

Anyone give me a noobs guide?

All these sites (odesk, freelancer, rentacoder, etc.), they generally work on the principle of given units of work. Someone puts out a piece of work, people "bid" on it: they state an amount of money (or an hourly rate) they'd be willing to be paid, and how long they'd take to do the work.

For example, I'm a website programmer, and someone wants a site that looks and works like Facebook; I might tell him it's a 200-hour project and I charge £10/hr. I'd be one of a few people making bids on the project, and someone might bid lower/faster, they might not.

For what it's worth, I've never seriously tried these sites. Hope that helps.

    Thanks. That makes sense.

So, are these the only types of places that offer actual work from home opportunities.
