estate agent fees

Options
hi, me and my ex split up 3 years ago, we had a joint mortgage and i decided to take the house on myself, we had nothing legal written up and a 50/50 mortgage, unfortunately i couldnt afford it on my own so i sold the house after 18 months and i paid all the solicitor, estate fees on my own even though she was still on the mortgage at the point of sale. Could i claim half of this back off my ex partner? many thanks

Not sure how you would go about claiming it now. You should have deducted all costs from the proceeds of sale before splitting the money.

Try appealing to her better nature but other than that it would need to be a legal route and no guarantee of any success.

Surely your solicitor dealing with the sale should have deducted the costs?

You could try but I think you'd be on a hiding to nothing to be honest.

Why not just learn from it and move on, would it be worth all the hassle after all the fault was yours in the beginning
