English and Maths are the two things that all job centres should have funding for. Speak to your advisor as mentioned by other people above and they should be able to sort you out.0

To the OP, firstly WELL DONE for wanting to go to college!!! WELL DONE!
Secondly, don't mock the poor OP for goodness sake!
Thirdly, To answer your question, YES you can do your Maths and English while on JSA and it will not effect your benefits. You can also do another part time course on top of that if you want to, as long as these courses do not exceed 16 hours per week.
Ask the jobcentre about the Maths and English as they should have training courses already available.
Then go to the college and look at the different part time courses and choose something you will enjoy and that will help you to build yourself a future.
Your advisor can help you towards this
As soupdragon has said, you can either do a GCSE part time (about 2hrs per week each), or you can do a LEVEL 2 in maths and English which is equivelent to a GCSE.
How long have you been unemployed for?
DO NOT allow some of these people on here to get your down! Just ignore their rude and sarcastic comments! Thank you to everyone!

If you ask when you next sign on about a basic skills course they should put you on a 16 week basic skills course with one of their providers after an initial assesment for a [up to] level 2 literacy and level 1 numeracy course. You'll get travel expenses and [possibly] extra money on top of your JSA.0
