Hi

In the sun newspaper today, it says if you take your Farepack card into Argos. They will give you Money off Vouchers for shopping at Argos and Homebase. They have Leaflet's about it in store :)

Only fools buy hampers! Go to Tesco, everything is half the price!

I guess you were on the Board of Directors at Farepak making remarks like that???
If we all lived to the rule 'an eye for an eye', the world would be blind...
  • I don't mean to sound totally ignorant, but what is the general concept of Farepack?
How is it a better deal than just saving money in the bank over the year or using one of those Tesco/Asda saving cards?

You can save for numerous vouchers (like M&S & HMV, etc) as well as one particular voucher which lets you shop at hundreds of different stores (so you are not tied to one shop). It allows you to save a little each week and have Xmas prepaid so no debt :T . The vouchers are sent around Sept/Oct just in time for Xmas shopping. Bank accounts and shop savings cards can easily be raided at any time so it takes all the temptation away! Thats the theory anyway, it just so sad that it didn't work out for all those Farepak customers.....

  • If you put the money in the bank it is too easy to take it out if you are short one month but if you cannot pay for your vouchers/hamper you just get the amount that you have paid for. If myself found it easier but whether or not I will save (with Park) next year I don't know. :j

Actually I'm unemployed but I still managed to save for Christmas without using a company like unFarepack, it's called a savings account, quite a neat invention :p

Whether you have a point or not, there is no need to be rude. People who have lost out do not need sarcasm when they are feeling so bad about it anyway. For that matter, neither do the rest of us. This forum is a supportive community and that kind of comment is not going to be received well - no matter how valid - when you use that tone, simate.
