Aaarrgggghhhh, help! I'm decorating a cake for a party later and the fondant icing sugar i was supposed to use is rock hard. I've tried pushing it through a sieve but the bits won't break up. Any ideas?

Whizz it up in the food processor if you have one.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

maybe put it somewhere warm? That could soften it a bit first.Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

Well, the food processor worked!
I did have to put the main bit of the sugar (about the size and weight of half a brick) into a bag and bash it with a rolling pin first. There were some stubborn bits that the food processor couldn't whizz but these dissolved in a bit of warm water. Unfortunately i used a bit too much water on this and it was too runny to use but will bear it in mind for future. Thanks for the suggestions - the cake was a success in the end!0 -
