Evening moozie - seems to be quite a quiet Saturday evening - I just looked in on the Saturday night booze-up, but seems like they're all on alcohol-free  Could have done with a drop of vino myself.
Anyway, due to my change of plans - No curry in Manchester  I went to Tesco and ALDI with 'Mrs Rog2'. We had intended to get a take-away, but instead got a jar of 'Jalfreizi' Cook-in Sauce, for 86p at LIDL, some chopped chicken breast, mushrooms and some half-price peppers and enjoyed an EXCELLENT curry for around £2.50 for the two of us. No wine though as my wife is on nights tonight
We did a full weeks shop, between Tesco and ALDI, for around £25.00. :T :T

Hello rog2, sounds like you had a very successful day and a lovely, sensible evening meal! I am impressed with your food shopping! You definitely have got the hang of budgeting it! :T

I am enjoying a bottle of wine - our last one - as that will save me packing it. Pity Mrs Rog2 is on nights tonight but hope you can indulge in a little tipple ;)

£25 shopping isn't bad at all, well done rog2 :)

Wish I haddn't bought all those plates, bowls etc now as just had to wash them all and find a space for them (which mean't clearing a cupboard and cleaning it etc) and they are huge!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

He doesn't realise what he's missing, moozie. I have to admit that I opened the second can - but that's it, as there's no more
Anyway the wind's getting up and I need to make sure the cats are all in, so once I finish this one I'm calling it a day.
Your very good health, moozie. See you tomorrow.

    Hey Cath :D

Recipes please :D It's the rule of this thread: you make food, you share the recipes :T

Sounds you had a busy day! Hope you are done now.

hey moozie!!! hope you are well!!

the recipe for the choc truffles came off this website:

http://www.destitutegourmet.com/rhemarecipes.htm (l'affare Truffles, about half way down)
it's quite nice to read her philosophy on the home page http://www.destitutegourmet.com/index.htm where she talks about having no money and still wanting to eat nice food and so coming up with recipes

the pecan pie was a bit more complicated & not online so I will try to do that tomorrow!!! :):):)

yes it does have some nice recipes - she's put out a few books but sadly these days I am too tightfisted to fork out for them. I bet the food would be extremely tasty but I've got way too many cookbooks to justify buying any more, really ... I found her website (she's a New Zealander) through http://www.simplesavings.com.au, an Australian website similar to MSE which offers information on old-styler ways of saving etc - some useful stuff, I get their newsletter, it's quite fun, nothing we experts don't know though I suspect!!!
