You could not go wrong with The Indian Ocean in Carrickfergus (one of 3 in N.I.)---fantastic food---but keep a close eye on your bill.:j0

Papa Browns and try the Steak !:money:0

The best food in Carrick IMO is from Spingsteens. Relaxed, good portions and good value. The Dragon Inn also does very good chinese.
I would disagree with Kgrant and not reccommend papa Browns, we found the service poor and the food almost cold (just our experience I know).
Springsteens steak with pepper sauce and tobacco onions - lovely0 -

Is the Dragon Inn the chinese on the belfast side of Carrick where the Indian Ocean is ?

I used to go to the Dragon Inn but now it is more quantity than quality.
I don't like Indian but those who do seem to love the Indian Ocean.
For non chinese/indian Brewer's Fayre (reasonable price), Papa Brown's (but noisy), Windrose and Springstein's are all fine.0 -

IMO, the following are the best :
Indian food : Indian Ocean @ Fortfield
Chinese : Only really is Four Seas (ok) and Dragon Inn (good 3courses for less than £6 at lunchtime but not the best food)
American : Springsteens, nice dinner, fab fry up for the hangover but expensive for a 'diner'
Papa Browns : Beleive ran or owned by same people as Springsteens, similar but a little more 'upmarket' than Springsteens
Coast Road Hotel : Doing a good deal, main meal with soft drink or glass of wine for £7.50, very nice
Dobbins : 2 main meals for £10.50 and very nice
Ownies/Joymount Arms : Last meal was horrible, stay away for food
Point : Horrible and over-priced
Windrose : Very good food and great views. Not 'cheap' tho, check out menu online
Clarion : Good food, Sunday carvery recommended but normally very busy
Knockagh Lodge : i've heard they've recently put on a really good cheap meal deal, check it out
HOpe that helps, just my opinions0
