Lack of marital support

Has any one else noticed that they are undermined in their effort to make a bit of extra cash on line. My husband really likes to b*tch about me being on "that thing" meaning the computer. He prefers to forget that "that thing" has helped to pay for our caravan and spends and will be helping towards Christmas. Never mind the saving tips I get. It really feels like I am swimming against the tide.:mad::(

  • I've been "off the boards" for ages but Mrs Wild Rover decided to set up her own business - :T - so I am back looking for any guidance and helpful hints. I think it is a direct responsibility of mine to help her and encourage her as much as I can.

If you are bringing in the cash and paying for things your family wouldn't otherwise be able to afford, more power to your elbow. Do you keep a list of how much you are "bringing in"? Who knows, if you let him see it every couple of months and what it has helped you buy, he might see the light, and , who knows, actually get involved?:j

    Good luck!

This scenario is sooooooooooo familiar to me:(:(:(

We are on benefits at the moment, yet still maintain a reasonable lifestyle, partly through using sites like MSE and also by googling everything for the lowest prices, best deals, freebies etc etc etc and still my wife moans that I seem to spend ages on 'that thing'. The other point she seems to forget is that on a virtually daily basis I am checking the job sites for work!!!!!!!!!

It just seems very unfair to be missing that support Olias. You keep going. I will too. They would soon complain if they went with out instead.

I've had the same problem before too. My partner complains how much time I sometimes spend on the laptop.

They soon stop complaining when you win though :)

Same here! I suggest doing carboot sales to my husband-he says 'got better things to do with our Sundays'. I wanted to do private tutoring-got told not to as it would mean seeing each other even less and I would probably end up sleeping with a student. I suggested Avon-I would be mugged while knocking door to door! Grrrrr!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Him indoors thinks I'm on the computer too much, but he's always on his smart phone looking at footie results, so it's a pot/kettle situation! I think he just thinks it's not worth it, but I don't have any other way to bring money in at the moment.

My OH never comes out and says it much but I KNOW he thinks it loads - it's my survey money that has bought the kids some new summer pj's this month and their summer sandals... ok, we could have paid for it out of money we save for them each month but I would rather not dip into their savings except for little treats like a toy they would really like.

I do do Avon as well and so far he has not moaned about the catalogues being in the house and the orders waiting to be delivered but I am waiting on it.

Sorry to be off topic but I agree with dave4545454, he sounds like he doesn't trust you and he also sounds like he is very controlling e.g. he says 'got better things to do with our Sundays'. I would speak to him about this if I were you.

Anyway back on topic, he doesn't like you on the computer but I bet he doesnt mind receiving the benefits of your hard work right?
