Starting out on a DMP with CCCS

Options
Hi there,
i am in the midst of setting up a DMP with CCCS and i am a little confused so hoping for some help.
They have told me today my payments would be 293GBp to them monthly- do i then stop paying all my debts?? Or do i continue with the normal ones and this will pay off my arrears? I am a little confused as the figure seems very low for paying all my debts. Or is this the figure they have worked out I can afford to pay to them? Does this include my mortgage?

Sorry for blond questions but i am confused.com!

I'd be surprised if you had enough left to continue paying the debts on top of what CCCS have worked out you're able to pay having taken down your income and expenditure (has this happened??).

You continue to pay your priority bills such as mortgage and utilities whilst CCCS will take over your debts such as loans and credit cards.

Do you know I did the same thing just before Christmas and expected the worst. It took them a few weeks to realise, by then I'd written to them all explaining my situation (which i'm assuming CCCS will do for you?). Just ignore any unusual numbers and within a month it will all die down. Its amazing how empowered I felt at that time - something I'd not felt in a very long time :o

Who are your creditors? And are they aware of any financial problems at all?

That is the amount that CCCS have calculated for you to pay your debts so that is what you should pay to CCCS who will then distribute the money to your creditors. You do not need to pay any more to your creditors. The repayments only cover unsecured debts so you should pay your mortgage as normal.

Well i had a bit of a nightmare on payday yesterday! My wages were 150 pound short due to 2 days in court as a witness which i havent been paid back yet from the courts and then one of my payday loans had taken the money from my account before i could get to the bank and withdraw the money. So it means i am totally short and trying to find the cash to pay the mortgage and council tax at the bare minimum- My new bank account is open now so switching everything over and getting my DMp forms away this week- ii have written to all my creditors informing them of this. The payday loan companies had tried so many times to take the money that the fraud team from barclays called me!! So i am in a bit of a pickle with money but then i guess i expected that!
Cant wait until next month when everything will be back to normal-ish and i can pay all my bills i need to and pay CCCS as well to start that rolling!
