Ok we have 2 children and their Dad has one of them 3 nights a week 1 week, 2 the next. The youngest is being breastfed so does not stay overnight and will not for a few months yet.
The CSA cant seem to work out the reduction. I know its 1/7 for every night - thats simple enough, but where there are 2 children involved but only 1 stays out they say they 'cant get the system to deal with it'
I am not too sure how it should be worked out.. i initally thought it averages 2.5 nights a week, but its only for 1 child, so a reduction of 5 nights in the month seems reasonable to me. Their dad pays monthly so this should be possible, but the CSA state it cant be done...
Anyone any advice? Dont want to not go via the CSA as we have been there twice before and the money never materialises and we rely on it to pay for the eldests activities such as swimming, football, cubs etc

they can deal with it - you might need to insist on speaking with a manager. I have three children - the youngest was born after we separated. For a year, he didn't stay overnight with dad due to the breastfeeding thing (except the night he refused to return him but that's another story!) and the other two were with dad three nights a week. They managed to calculate that so they should be able to calculate your situation.
You have got me thinking though. I am going to look at the calculation again to be sure!0

If you're on CS2 then the CSA's system can calculate it. Shared care for one of the children will be nil, and the other one will be band 2 (as it is more than 2 nights per week but less than 3).
That means it will be 0/7 reduction for one child, and 2/7 reduction for the other, meaning that overall the maintence will be reduced by 1/7 per week for the children.0

DH has 2 children from a previous relationship. Only one of them stayed 1 night per week, so he got a 1/14th reduction. He is on CSA2 - they can do it.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked 0 0
