Just to make people aware - these are dated products. That is, they come with a clearly displayed 'sow by' date.

I'm guessing these are so cheap because that date is near - thus may not be suitable for Xmas gifts

Of course my hunch may be wrong!

Can this pm - nicely boxed and are dated - but think its 2/12 and 4/12 (have put away) - so fine for next Xmas.

Hi all, if you are planning on giving these as gifts make sure you open and check inside the boxes first, I got mine yesterday and the bonsai box had no seeds in - just the pots and sticks, the herb set was fine.
They are lovely and will make a great gift. Thanks OP

Just recieved a letter this morning. Unfortunately they have sold out of the Bonsai and Herb kits so they have sent me a pen instead!! and a letter of apology. Oh well...
