Credit Confidential.com?

Options
Twice this week I've seen ads for Credit Confidential and I was wondering are they a new major credit reference agency like Experian or Equifax or a third party one that using data from the main agencies?

Having a look at their site they do a 30-free trial like the others do, but I was wondering whether it was worth signing up (free trial only of course) when I come to do my credit clean up next month?

It's just data from CallCredit, so not a new CRA at all.

In fact, in the small print on their page it says they are not a CRA.

CallCredit itself is more often than not a waste of time, so second hand data from them is probably doubly so.

Credit Confidential® and Adaptive Affinity Limited are not credit information service providers and do not receive fees for such services, nor are they credit reference agencies, or consumer credit, consumer hire, credit brokerages, debt-adjusting, debt-counselling, debt-collecting or debt administration organisations or businesses

    from the small print

after doing some digging, although it is not in their small print i can confirm from a reliable source that they are also not providers of intersteller transportation, they are not marine recovery agents, they do not book venues for clown related events in the west midlands area and im fairly certain that they are not publishers of the Harry Potter series of books

Sorry, I should have seen this. I was looking at the site on my mobile so I just scrolled to the bootom to see if it mentioned any associations with Equifax or Experian, etc .. when I looked the site again I saw it mentioned CallCredit.

BTW, if its not a CRA or many other things :D that what exactly does it do?

It's interesting that Adaptive Affinity are the company behind Credit Confidential. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] the OFT in recent years regarding the business practices of some of their other brands.

I thought I'd try this company out to see if they're any good.

The signing up process ran smoothly and all of my details were accepted including my bank card. However, when I attempted to view my credit report (which is the specific service offered by Credit Confidential) I was informed that my card details were incorrect and that I should check and try again.

My card details (which are accepted every time by numerous companies) were completely correct but their system was having none of it despite having accepted them during the signing up process. No alternative instructions were supplied and I was left high and dry being told I'd input incorrect details over and over again.

In a nutshell, I was enrolled into a fee paying membership with a credit report supplying company which didn't allow me to check my credit report. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

Needless to say I cancelled the membership within an hour.

I've encountered problems like this with another of Adaptive Affinity's brands and I'd hoped these problems were a thing of the past. Perhaps it's just teething problems of a new company that will be resolved but I personally won't be doing business with them.

I'm extremely cautious these days about companies [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

If they purport to let you view CallCredit's file on you and you know they are likely to be dodgy, then surely it's better to go direct to CallCredit instead of risking giving your card details out somewhere else.

    No harm
in testing the water before making a comment about the business. I wanted to see if they've finally created a brand that's professional, efficient and fair. All of their other brands have been involved in controversy and I was keen to discover if they've got their act together with this latest venture.

Unfortunately my experience with Credit Confidential resulted in being enrolled into a service which their website wouldn't allow me to access.

They are advertising on prime time tv so there's bound to be a sizeable uptake of customers with their company. It'll be interesting to hear about other people's experiences with Credit Confidential.
