I watched it, and I could tell which dress was the budget one (being MSE and all). I liked what Martin sensibly sid: have the wedding you can afford, don't get into debt for it!
Is it me or the couple with kids and not planning to get married sounded a bit materialistic to be honest? Do they know that you don't have to spend £20,000 to get married? You can still have it all wedding, house, car and so on if marriage is important to you...

I totally agree. It was really geared to the expensive wedding so I'm glad they did show the other less expensive one. Which in my opinion looked better!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140

Hi, im the women from the show, the one with the kids not planning on getting married?? Yes we know you dont need £20,000 to get married. However we have prioritised whats important to us and the children, i.e buying a house. we dont have the money to do everything at once, and our prioritey is always the children so at the moment even £1000 the cost of a low budget wedding, we would rather spend on taking the children to disney land? I can see how the program may come across as us being materialistic but we are not, we are very focused on making sure our children get the best upbringing we could possibly provide and in my opinion getting married dosent change anything?0

Kayl18 - thanks for coming on here and just explaining your view without getting all stroppy and defensive like some people seem to. Nice to hear your side of things - I know from a close friend's experience that a TV show can edit in such a way that a completely false impression is given (though must admit I probably do make far too many judgements myself when watching things like 4 Weddings lol)0

Thanks for your lovely replies, I can see your both getting married soon, so i hope you all have a fab day, who knows it might be me one day?????0

By the way, just to clarify when I said about people coming on and getting stroppy...that wasn't aimed at any people on this board, which is generally one of the friendlier places...there are a few other boards where people seem to get a little more irritable shall we say! On here we just come here and rant about our families etc and share each others pain when wedding planning gets a little stressful. You know what...maybe Disneyland is a pretty good option instead0
