- My ESA gets paid into the bank directly - is it / would it be possible to get this on the old way with a Giro while the process gets underway? Its my only income.
- I think I should get full fee remission - am I right?
- I'm stressed out incase I get any of the figures wrong that I owe or miss off someone I owe money too - what happens id I do this in error? I don't want to get into trouble for making mistakes (I'm dyslexic and have current MH issues so its hard work!)
- What happens to poll tax and water charges when you go BR?

I started filling the form in online a few months ago - but now I don't have the computer that was used so I don't have the bookmark to go back to the form. Google is just a maze of help agencies.
Where will this form have been, any ideas?
thanks again

Hi Liz, I too went bankrupt whilst on ESA last year. You don't have to worry about your benefits the OR won't take them. Mine are paid into a post office card account & was never touched. Re the fees you get a discount of £150 if on benefits but you still have to pay the other £450. Make sure your benefits letter is dated within the last four weeks before your bankruptcy date or you will have to pay the full amount & claim the £150 back. I too was worried in case I missed someone out, but this is why they post it in the gazette so that creditors can contact them if they have a claim against you. Council tax & utility bills will be included in the bankruptcy up until your bankruptcy date. I downloaded the forms from here http://www.ned-cab.org.uk/debtselfhelp/bankruptcy_627_2.asp. HTH

Hi there and welcome.
1. If you want to keep using a bank account with direct debit facility and a debit card then open either a Barclays Basic account (no internet banking) or a Co-op Cashminder (with internet banking). Don't worry if you don't have a branch of either nearby, the Co-op account can be opened by phone and you can pay in at the Post Office and access money with the debit card at a cashpoint.
2. Fee remission as Skintbint says.
3. Don't worry, everything you owe at BR date is included, even if you miss some off the forms. It can help to obtain your credit reports from each of the 3 credit reference agencies as they will show who you owe to.
4. If you owe on your utilities then that will go into your BR and you continue paying them as normal, some will open a new account for you, closing off the account the debt is on.
With regards to Council Tax, it depends if you owe anything right now and how far they are along with chasing you for the money. I believe they can continue to recover money owing throughout the BR year but then cease when you are discharged. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
