Slow Cooker Trouble

Hello everyone, and Happy Easter
I have a problem with my slow cooker. I got a cheap one from Robert Dyas in January, and I don't have the receipt so I can't take it back very easily. It worked the first time I used it, but I went to switch it on today and it's dead.
I have checked the power socket & that's not it. On closer inspection, I noticed that the plug on my slow cooker has a label marked "fitted with a 3Amp fuse". I'm guessing that's the problem, it has probably fused, but why would they put such a ridiculously small fuse on a 13Amp plug?
Can I safely put a 13A fuse in it or will I have problems with my slow cooker? I'm not sure I want to put a 3A fuse back in it because it's surely just going to fuse again?!
Does anybody know anything about electrics?

My oh my, just found my own answer.
I managed to dig out the manual and it says it should be fitted with a 13amp fuse not a 3 amp!
I'm guessing they did this to make it cheaper - a very cheeky thing to do!
I'll be off to buy a 13A fuse in a mo and fix my slow cooker!
I will leave this post here as reference for anybody who has a similar problem!
