LOL...I need to make my 'vacant' moments a bit more animated, yours sound like so much more fun!

Thanks for taking the time to post. I seem to have hit a wall at the moment, I'm not near enough to the finishing line to put in a sprint finish and have fully exploited every possible way of injecting any life into this mission…the next 20+ months feel never ending. I have fallen out of step with myself....I was so motivated up until now...I think I just need a bl**dy good shake!!

On a more positive note I tried running up the stairs this afternoon taking two steps at a time…hahaha now that was funny….my DS2 came rushing to my ‘rescue’ because he thought from all the noise that I’d had a fall….note to self - a brisk stroll in the park will be exercise enough until I lose a bit of this excess weight!

Well done on how far you have come you have done a fantastic job, gentle kick to the rear you can do this. Why dont you set yourself a challenge to clear one cc im sure another 0 in your signature will push you along.
I have been plodding along so far this year but like another flash from that lightbulb and im off again and I will sell anything thats not nailed down and do as many surveys as I can im thinking every penny counts (maybe DH can do this in his spare time)

Thanks for reading Herewego....you're so right about the kick up the rear, although I think it probably needs to be quite a hard one this time!!

Great advice about the surveys...I started doing a few a month or so back but probably not seriously enough....will add that to my 'to do list'.
Sadly OH won't touch a computer, he's having far too much fun sitting in the sunshine 'waiting for god' (oh dear, that sounds a bit harsh, truthful... but harsh!!). He is very much of the opinion that I brought this debt upon myself and therefore it's my problem, hence the fact he retired earlier than planned, he didn't feel that he wanted to 'subsidise' me at this time in his life....don't get me started on that one!! :o

Thank you again for your support, this can be a lonely journey at times...a friendly cheer or kick up the rear will be gratefully received :)

    Hello fellow subscriber

Thank you for coming over to my diary, if you had not of, I may not have found you. Wow you really have achieved alot. And with a similar size debt on my shoulders it is nice to see that the figures can go down.

I am now also off to look at Quidco as I too have never heard of it.

    Subscribing to this diary :D

I wholeheartedly recommend "dream holidays". They are free after all :D. Florence for me today. The weather was perfect, the Ponte Vecchio was bustling, and I had no debts, aches or pains...lol

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I gave myself a good talking to last night and feel a slightly more upbeat today. I still feel like I’m wading through treacle but now that I’ve given it some thought I’m convinced it has more to do with the never ending demands on me from my family and job rather than the debt….at least I’m in control of that, it rarely throws me a curved ball these days and there is an end in sight!!

Away enough of my grumbles, on with today’s update….

    :) Good news
    • I managed to clear Sainsbury’s CC last month so have snowballed that payment onto the M&S card - paid £425 yesterday.
    • My pay rise (small one) appeared on my payslip for the first time today so I’ve been able to pay an extra £50 off Capital One this morning.
    • Yesterday and today have been NSD’s….that’s three in a row, so pleased with that!
    :o Not such good news
    • HMRC have started taxing OH’s private pension to the tune of £105 a month. I’ve checked on the tax calculator and it looks to be right but will mean that he now has a tax free allowance of just £6916…..I’m not altogether sure that’s right the .gov website suggests it should be £9,940 ….confused.com!! I need to investigate a little further but in the short term he’s going to have to tailor his cloth accordingly…bracing myself… Victor Meldrew is about to enter the building!!! ;)
    To do list
Getting nowhere with this…will hopefully make some inroads over the weekend!

April is nearly over….I can’t wait to start a shiny new budget sheet for May….haha it’s the simple things that make me happy these days!!

Just a quick update now that April has been well and truly put to bed….what a horrid month that was ….so expensive (Easter, bank holidays, family birthdays) I ended the month £320 over budget

My morale/motivation took a real hit too, felt like I was wading through sludge every day (emotionally and physically) and didn’t know how to pull myself together…it’s been a long time since I’ve felt quite so down (quite worrying really!)

Anyway, May has arrived, and with it a new me! I feel like I’m back in the driving seat and intend to keep it that way! Number one priority is to tighten my budget where possible to start making up for April’s overspend

…and to finish on a really positive note I’ve cleared £3075 so far this year and now owe less than £20k….onward to the £15k target!! :)
