Usually Three or Tmobile have been known to help with poor credit ratings in the past...
have you looked at the credit file cleanup sticky here?

I've not heard of a br friendly provider. Many of us with contracts held on to our pre br contracts. Have you considered PAYG? There are a lot of decent deals at the moment.2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)
12k in 2018 No. 98 £6274.19/£18000 (34.85%)
BTL (start) £97440.00 (current) £68000.00
Residential (start) £275000.00 (current) £268000.000 -
some networks may ask for a deposit as well0

(deposit is refunded though after 6mnths or so)
Orange have been known as well to help..start with a sim only deal then after 6mnths or so they "might" upgrade to a full contractWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

Just dont get a iphone or smart phone that roams other networks as you may get a rather large bill !0 -
be easier though if your abroad to purchase a sim free handset then once you get to where your going buy a local sim card works out much much cheaper than if your roaming with a uk simWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Try a SIM only contract. Then buy what ever phone you want, it always works out way cheaper. That's how I have always done it, bar this time... Costing me a fortune in comparison... The Post office sell 'abroad SIM cards' up 90% saving than a standard UK SIM.0

Long shot - but I had TV from Virgin media before and whilst BR and the year afterwards they gave me a contract as obviously I had good history with them. Only works if you're already with them though I suppose.0
