Ready to bang head off keyboard. Phoned Capital one to ask for a settlement figure so I could shut the account once and for all. Lovely lady talks to me will reduce APR and give a balance transfer rate of 12%. So I say I'll think about it (barclaycard is charging me more than 12%). She says great but the system is down so you will have to phone back anyway. DH and I talk it through and decide to go with it, so I phone back and say right I want to do a balance transfer at the promised rate and they say NO. Totally confused I go round in circles on the phone for ages before going back to my origional fine stick your account viewpoint.:rolleyes:

Why didn't they just let me shut it down in the first place?

should have asked for the ladies name so when you phone back she is more likely to be accepting to ur claim

Her name is Sophie and I have her extension number. It didn't help. Still If I don't keep it open I won't spend on it, their loss.
