I've started having my hair coloured at the hairdressers again after two years of colouring it myself, mainly because I wanted plum highlights in and can't do that myself. I've also started using Wella products again, a shampoo and a treatment. My hairdresser said I need to use a treatment so I bought one from there as I have tried them from Boots before and couldn't find one I like. However, my hair doesn't seem to be in any better condition for using this Wella stuff. Before I just used Simple shampoo and the conditioner that came with the hair colour I used. Is it worth persevering with the Wella. Does anyone else think we need more expensive hair products?

I use Kerastase - it's a bit expensive, but well worth it0

I use Pureology, used to use Kerastase, it lasts for aaaages and my hair is in great condition straight away.
I recently tried a store brand shampoo and conditioner (I didn't know it was a store brand at the time as it was unlabelled) for an trial/experiement and my hair just felt like straw and about 3 washes later resembled it too! I am lucky, I know people who can get the stuff I want at a lower cost but I think I'd seriously have to consider saving up for the stuff if I didn't have that option!0 -
I use salon brands now,I swop between Tigi and Kerastase depending on what I want my hair to do, I'm going to try Label M and Redken at some point, sticking to any brand continuously usually makes it less effective so a couple on the go is probably a good idea, I wouldn't go back to high street again but when I did I liked Herbal Essences and Head n Shoulders.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

i think there is a huge difference, I used to use Kerastase but now use Redken
I also sometimes use natural products from a company called Curl Harmony and i find their products also excellent0 -
I've used Aveda for about 15 years and it's the best IMO, I alternate between Shampure and Clove.
About a year ago I fancied a change and started using BC Bonacure but it dried my hair out to the point my hairdresser noticed.
I'm back with Aveda and won't stray again
, initial outlay is expensive but a 1 litre bottle lasts me about 7 months so worth every penny. 0 -

I'm also a huge aveda fan - scalp therapy is my chosen poison as I have a sensitive scalp. It is £40 for a 1 litre bottle but it lasts me about a year.0 -
Go to your local TKMaxx, they usually have brands like Tigi litre sizes at good prices.
I tend to use more natural brands as those with silicones make my head itch. Loved Aveda until Estee Lauder bought them and changed the quality of the range. Presently I am using Kevin Murphy a salon brand, but I was lucky as the local salon decided to discontinue the range and I got loads for £2 a bottle.0
