Lowell/Vodafone problem

Hi
Could any of you lovely people give me some advice?
Around a year ago I got an unexpected letter from Lowell portfolio saying I owe 60 quid for a vodafone account dating back to 2005. As far as I was concerned I had paid that off at the time and nothing was wrong.
I rang Lowells and asked them what the hell it was all about, they just said i'd need to pay. I told them I wouldn't pay unless they sent me a copy of the original statement. I didn't hear anything for a few months so ignored it, and then moved house.
They've recently found me at my new address. I rang them again and demanded a copy of the original statement. Now around two months later they have sent through a list of transactions, seemingly showing three months of outstanding line rental. I feel this proves nothing, and anyway it isn't the copy of the statement I asked for.
They have now said "We are now entitled to receive payment from you" and talk abut if they are not contacted within 7 days they will instruct the solicitors etc etc.
The debt will be six years old in August. Because I've rang them and spoke about it does that stop it becoming statute barred after 6 years? Would it if I wrote them a letter? Do you think it would help if I asked for a copy of the credit agreement?
Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for your help.
Ian

No.Would it if I wrote them a letter?
Not if you are disputing that you owe the debt.Do you think it would help if I asked for a copy of the credit agreement?
No. Mobile phone contracts are not regulated consumer credit agreements. They have now said "We are now entitled to receive payment from you" and talk abut if they are not contacted within 7 days they will instruct the solicitors etc etc
