Just started a dmp with payplan most of my creditors have accepted #######mbna####### have rejected what a surprise they have allso put my ppi compensation on hold for the last six months and upped the interest rate on the credit card allthougth it has been frozen for 9 months at least i only mentioned i was thinking of going with payplan and they stopped the card not the interest my questions are will they take me to court can i counter claim against the extornionate interest rate while they will not let me use the card
when they last phoned me a couple of months ago they told me to go with payplan then they reject the offer and there the highest paid of all the creditors in the payplan offer
I do not know what they will do next but a bit of helpfull imformation from the forum about how to deal with these pondlife

ps lloyds credit card have agreed to repay me 1200 pounds in ppi compensation regardless off the court case only thing is there knocking it off what i owe them in the dmp but atleast its 1200 less:T

They will probably pass the account to a collection agency - keep Payplan informed of developments. You'll get there in the end.

    Court action is unlikely.

I thought that the credit card companies were no longer allowed to up the interest rate once you had advised that you were having financial problems or have I got that wrong? Maybe someone else can confirm or deny.

Good luck with it all - MBNA are a pain....

    Who are Payplan?

They are free to the client - they are funded by a rake-back from the creditors

they contact your creditors and arrange for you to payback what you owe with hopefully little or now interest but cannot guarantee payplan are free they do not charge us the customer but they are paid by the financial industry there are debt advisors on this site that can give you a lot more indepth information about payplan ,cccs, national debtline,
  • I recently paid a large sum of money to Payplan as a final settlement to my creditors.I was contacted by MBNA to say they had not received payment as per usual on the 12th of each month. It seems for whatever reason Payplan have not and now I have a default against me which stays on record for 6 years.I am currently trying to sort this mess out :mad:which gives fur:mad:ther stress
