need help buying a fridge freezer

i am a total newbie to buying fridge freezers but i need one particularly from hotpoint which is half fridge half freezer.

it doesn't have to be big but 2 in 1 is best and split into two equally.

i'm looking for under £300 and i hav seen some websites listing it at higher prices and others under £300 so i dont mind looking around if u suggest for best price.

thing is i keep reading reviews and seeing negatives. also i need a frost free one and i keep reading that they aren frost free in the specs.

not sure which websites to look at as i've looked at argos, tescos, asda, currys, comet and need ur help.

Which model Hotpoint is the one you want?

This is reduced from £400 to £290

if you dont mind a scrape on the side lol

do you have an outlet local?
in peterborough with have an indesit/hotpoint shop/warehouse that sells appliances that have a cosmetic damage

i bought a brand new fridgefreezer with a slight scuff on the front for £159 but saw it a few days later online for £359

so could be worth checking if you have anywhere simular to pick up a bargain

i don't mind which model as long as its reviews are good and it will last, with the above specs mentioned in the first post.

i also don't mind a dent or scrape on the side as i know prices can b reduced significantly. i'm in west midlands so i can check out those areas if anyone knows?

    One question:

    Why Hotpoint?

Just to warn you frost free fridge/freezers can be really expensive to fix if something goes wrong.

It quite often will cost more to repair than to buy a new one.

hotpoint because everyone in my area seems to have hotpoint and so do my family and they all find it the best in their eyes.

also since it is being paid for most of it by my family so i wan to get their chosen brand and since i have grown up with hotpoint and seen they are reliable i am okay with that.

i have also asked opinions about frost free or not and most people say get frost free

since i have never bought one myself i am relying on the opinions of people i talk to which seem to be similar to each other that's my answer really.

Hotpoint USED to be a reliable brand. Unfortunately, now-a-days they aren't the same quality (although their washing machines aren't too bad)

Just bear in mind that the freezer capacity will be reduced on a frost-free model compared to a standard fridge freezer...

Well, put it this way: I'm a kitchen designer. I've dealt with countless appliance manufacturers, from low end (Candy, Baumatic etc) to high end (Gaggenau, Miele etc) and get fantastic prices from the ones I deal with now. But I went to Comet and bought a Beko fridge and freezer around 3 years ago. Never had any issues with them.

If you research ANY appliance manufacturer, you will always find something negative about them (even the high end appliances). At the end of the day, there is always going to be a case where someone has a problem with some brand, and each brand has their good and bad points. (I would never buy a Beko washing machine for example).
