Hi all,
Would just like to pick your brains - I have been with the CCCS for just over a year now. BC accepted my payments and stopped interest. I have just had my review with CCCS and my payment has been able to increase by just under £10. Since my review BC have now put interest up to 3% still very low but it has eaten up my extra payment.
I wrote a letter asking for it to be reduced and then called them to see if had been received they said yes they weren't reducing etcbut its policy blaaaaaaa blaaaaaaa blaaaaa.
I then asked if i could get defaulted but she said this would not happen as i have not been arrears or made late payment, i am just paying considerably less. Please could i have your thoughts on the above
Many THanks

On a DMP sometimes some creditors will start re-charging interest. This often happens if your new repayment level is at the original minimum payment level or not much below that level (I have seen 1 creditor charge interest if the DMP payment is 90% of what the payments used to be for example).
There are other times when creditors will freeze interest for a year and then decide to start charging it again (even if your payment hadn't gone up).
Really not much you can do except try to get them to change their mind by writing to them as you have done, or hope that they do pass on the account at some point to a debt collector.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
