What are the events, groups that women over 30 go to?

I'm thinking of offering free chair massages to various groups in the local area, and give out my flyers to get clients.

I don't mind who I massage, I have a male client but I find the vast majority of potentials are women 30-60, so makes sense to put time into that.

Can you help my think of ideas for groups or events where I could promote myself to this group?

I have:

Fetes
Mother's group (Although mums don't always have money)
Book club/reading group

You may be able to flyer in your doctor's surgery- something to read while they're waiting-
or your local health food shop like holland and barratts or somewhere that sells alternative remedies.

  • Workplaces - I worked as a temp in an agency and in one of the jobs I was temping in used to do different things for staff on the last Friday of the month - one of which was indian head massages. It was a smallish business (max 20 staff)

Also, you could offer discounts to people who work for certain employers - find out what large employers work in your area and see if they have a company "perks" or "benifits" package (then offer 10% discount to all those who work these on production of their staff card) You would be able to advertise in the workplace, and you would also feature on their work perks intranet - A friend gets 10% off her haircuts because she works for the NHS. I also used to work for the local council and they had a whole host of places where staff got deals and special offers.

Another place would be local gyms - ones that don't have their own "in-house" beauty place.

    Try also the vets' waiting-room.

Also, is there a small "free-ads" type publication where you are? There's one where I live, which gets put through doors around here and is also available to pick up from pubs, local cafes, waiting rooms, etc.

In addition, why not offer a free 'taster' session one afternoon in a local venue and invite the local press along...?

    Good luck! x
