Advice on an old (unpaid CCJ)

Hello,
I’ve been a long time lurker here – brilliant forum!
I got myself into a lot of debt several years ago with a failed business. I’m almost clear (had to sell house etc.).
I recently got my credit report and noticed a CCJ, I genuinely don’t know what it is for – its for around £1200 and I can only assume it was business related rather than personal.
I didn’t get any notice or letters, and have had absolutely no correspondence at any point about this.
The CCJ is about 5 and a half years old and I am inclined to just ignore it and let it drop off after 6-years. However someone told me that a CCJ stays on your credit file for 6-years AFTER BEING SETTLED – rather than 6-years from the actual date of the CCJ.
I’d be gutted if I paid it now and it was on my file for a further 6 years, I’ve seen different views on this, can anyone let me know when this will drop off my credit file?
Thanks very much.

Thanks, that is reassuring as it is not clear on the credit report.

If you sold up to pay your debts and moved house, chances are the correspondence went to your old address.0
