Small Pc £184.99

Hi, I just received this
4959694619_7781829a30.jpg
I must say im very please with the performance of this little machine. Its a 1.8gh deul core with the new mini ION graphics card, much quicker then my old Asus eeepc 901. I was gonna make a small pc to use as a media center but after calculating the costs it would of been over £300 but then I saw the Acer Revo for £185 quid! Bargain. If you just on a small pc (and i mean very small! this one can fit on a back of a monitor) you should check it out! It doesnt come with windows but in my case i dont need windows but if you have a spare cd then your laughing or you can get a slight more expensive one with windows.

Acer Revo Linux = http://www.ebuyer.com/product/236579
Acer Revo Windows 7 (not many left) = http://www.ebuyer.com/product/236580
Paul,

Always trying to save the pennies!
Got rid of me BMW 318i and got a Smart Fortwo:) Fun to drive and less times visiting the petrol station:j

Ebuyer (the same company) also sell W7 licenses seperately for £70.00, which makes it £255.00 I bought one of these when they were priced at £234.00 They're great little PC's. If you buy them for 1080p movies, you will also need to acquire a very good codec. The free ones that i have seen (and that's a lot of them) are not up to it. CoreAVC is, and costs around £6.00. They have Wireless-n, a 160Gb HDD and come with a wired keyboard and mouse. The more expensive version comes with wireless kb and mouse and a bigger HDD.
  • I have one of the first generations of one of one of these (brought probably more than a year ago now). 720p is fine but 1080p was a no no. I'd be interested in knowing if this processor in this one is any good? I only use mine for surfing now and its ok not majorly fast when handling flash. I have upgraded it to an SSD though and would recommend that as the HDDs they put in these are pretty slow...

Brilliant for if you don't want any clutter and can hide it behind a monitor. Smart little boxes.
  • If you want to use it for playing back 1080p I would suggest that you look at running XBMC on it, either as an executable in Windoze or as a live linux version loaded onto a SD card which you can boot from.

Sometimes that's just how it is. Some folk watch but don't speak up UNTIL they have something truly constructive to contribute.

Nevertheless, Ebuyer is a very well established company. Everyone has to start from somewhere, nobody was born with 10000 posts to their name :)
