Work for joiners.

Hi all. Just wondering how others are coping with the construction industry lack of work. My OH has had about 3 weeks joinery work since November 2010, this is following 30 years of never being out of work.
Can anyone suggest any avenues for finding work? Does anyone on here need any joinery work priced and carried out? Does anyone know of any building firms needing joiners?
He will go anywhere and consider any size of job.
Thanks.

he may need to consider a different career path to be honest. not the best of advice nor very helpful i know, but in these uncertain days, it could be his only option.
since he isn't working he could consider using the time to go and do some qualifications through tech, and even go and speak to the local Job Centre about how they may be able to help him with these courses.
apart from that i don't know what he could do. and with the chance of 400 Red Sky workers loosing their jobs, some of which will also be joiners, it will only get worse for joiners, not better.0 -

Nothing positive nfortunately.
One of the best joiners I've met (who did a fair bit of work for me) is now a call handler in a HCL Call Centre.0 -
Would supplying and fitting a wooden panel fence be anything he would consider?0

No words of encouragement from me either, I'm afraid! My brother, an experianced joiner has been out of work for around the last 3 years, my BIL has had to go to England to find work. Nothing much happening here in the north west I'm sorry to say. What area are you in so that anyone with odd jobs can have an idea as to whether or not its worth pm'ing you?0
