I wonder if he is preparing to move constituencies to a nice Tory safe seat :)

Should he have pocketed it then?

Actions speak louder than words, and MPs with a vested interest in house price rises cannot be a good thing.

Given the level of owner occupancy in this country, it is arguable that the majority of people in the UK have a vested interest in house prices...

Saying that, I don't think he should have pocketed the profit.

That & the fact the people of Sheffield probably want him gone

  • Well done Nick.

    Leading by example.

It is a shame the likes of Blears only gave a portion back when caught or other troughers like the Cooper-Balls and Kirkbride-Mackay stuck two fingers up at the taxpayer.

You see the Lib Dems came out of the expenses very very well. Very very few complaints could be made.

No Lib Dem has gone on trial or is under investigation. Shame that cannot be said about the Tories and Labour.

Well done Nick. A man of integrity.

Feels a bit "PR" to me, but nevertheless a nice gesture, despite it's true intentions I suppose.

You are right and no he shouldn't have pocketed it. Clegg's snout is as filthy as the rest of them and I can't help but believe that his little epiphany is rather timely.

not sure about that him being a man of integrity.

just because people have gone on trial it doesn't mean they haven't done no wrong. being an MP of a particular political party doesn't exclude anyone from doing wrong and not getting caught.
  • The boy's a bit daft, financially. Should have sold it to his wife, pocketed the profit, and now pay an exhorbitant rent (at taxpayer's expense) to keep it in the family.

He's in the Conservative party now. He should behave like one.

True, but we have had several convictions now in Labour ranks and one Tory with others in the pipeline.

We do have our bad apples in the Party, certainly at local level, but I think in the Westminster scheme of things the main two parties came out of it far worse than we did even allowing for the disparity in our numbers.

I do think this is PR but I also do not think it cynical PR.
