How long for creditors to update credit report?

We've paid off 4 debts in the past month and am just wondering how long it normally takes for them to update your credit report to say the debt is settled?

It should be within 28 days but in reality can take months. I'd wait 2 months and then write to the creditor and query it. If you have a settlement recieved letter from the creditor you could try sending that to the credit reference agencies and ask them to update their records yourself.

I wouldnt bank on this, from personal experience. I recently got a copy of my file from experian and found that a certain mobile phone company ( i'll refrain from naming them ) took THREE years to update my account as settled.
