The RZR Razor At Boots £1!

Is this right? Are they any good? For £1 I'm going to try...just an idea if ordering from Boots and are sick of paying out for Gillette blades (like me).

i seen these before, but they always say out of stock. i used to have gillette venus, but i now have wilkinson sword Quattro. Gillette blades go blunt after about 3 or 4 goes, but my quattro lasts longer, the blades are cheaper, and i have never cut myself on it. it also feel nice on my legs unlike the venus.
i'd buy the rzr if they have any in stock, but if not, then i'd go for the quattro and throw your venus away :D

The RZR are from the King of Shaves people.

I've seen the blades heavily reduced in Boots stores since the summer (as cheap as 50p per pack for 4 and £1 for 8 blades). Not recently though as the clearance sections have been moved to make way for christmas stock.

I'd buy one for a quid as chances are you'll pick up the replacement blades cheaply from January onwards when the sales and clearances start again.
  • i found the quattro to clog , i went back to my mach 3
fusion was the best, but the blades are soooo expensive.
  • Boots' website shows packs of 4 and 8 blades both showing up at £1 each. Unfortunately, the 8-pack i sout of stock.

Anyone know how good this razor (the non-disposable one) actually is?

I need a new razor and have always used Wilkinson Sword, as Gillette has never, ever given me a decent shave.

Anyone know if this is any good?

Where did you find the razors? I've been hunting for them all summer, but can't find one anywhere.

Please say it's somewhere near Barnsley!

If anyone manages to get these cartridges but do not have or cannot get a razor to fit it.....

The original RZR razors are virtually impossible to get, but one can use Sainsburys own-brand triple-blade razors that will take these cartridges - they come in a grey blister-pack (~£2.99 for a razor & 2 cartridges).

At one point the RZR cartrigdes went down to 25p for the 4-pack & 50p for the 8-pack!

The RZR/Sainsburys cartridges are not bad, but I think Gillette Mach 3's which I used previously are better. Who's complaining at this price though ;). G

P.S. My October post asking where I can get the razor to fit these cartridges. On finding this out, I didn't bother posting it in the appropriate forum as I thought no one would bother with RZR/Sainsburys razors :o.

Like others I saw the blades mega discounted. At the time I tried seeing if I could find the actual handles so I could buy up the blades, but had no luck.

I don't like gilette razors. I think they're over-rated, over-priced, and the blades don't last very long. In fact every time a "better" one comes out I think they don't last as long as the last.

I think the best razor I have used to date is the Wilkinson Sword Quattro which came as a freebie.
  • I swear by Mach 3 but currently use Wilkinson Sword "Lady Protector +" (I'm a bloke BTW) - reason being when KwikSave was sold off my local had packs of 5 cartridges for 50p and I realised they fitted my Wilkinson Sword "Protector 3D DIAMOND" handle soooo I bought the entire stock!!

Trouble is they're absolute pants, but I'll persevere in true MSE style till they're all used up (circa Sept 08 I believe :rotfl: )

Male & female cartridges are different. They look the same, but the companies experiment with slight changes in blade angle etc etc.

Sad that I know this, but it is true.
