The UK really wasn't in such a terrible position when you look at other countries tbhFaith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

each economy has had it's own issues and mostly due to their dependency on house prices not because of them.
Does the UK, therefore have issues with house price dependency ? In my opinion, and reading posts from more bullish members of this forum, I believe it does.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

Is that OK then ?
We shouldn't be comparing ourselves to other countries so much, we should be positioning ourselves so that we have the best possible standard of living for our own citizens. If we live in comfort, but another country is in luxury, so what ? As long as our population are well fed, have jobs, housing etc, then why be concerned if another country is "living it up" ? For all we know, their lifestyle might be based on huge debt, which could cause them massive problems in the future.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. i'm not sure how banks wouldn't have a dependency on house prices in any country to be fair.0 -
