Hi everyone!
I have a wooden roll top breadbin at the moment which holds loads but is very big, I hate the roll top and when I move it the underneath is always mouldy and hard to clean (ewww)
This is what I have currently:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8405717/Trail/searchtext%3EBREADBIN.htm
and this is what I'm looking at:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8425450/Trail/searchtext%3EBREAD.htm
or this if it ever comes back in stock!!!:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8425948/Trail/searchtext%3EBREAD.htm
or this?:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8424389/Trail/searchtext%3EBREAD.htm
I bake my own bread so it needs to hold min 1 loaf and a 12 pack of warburtons rolls for the kids...anyone got any of these..what do you think?
Am i better off keeping what I already have and just trying to give it a major scrub?
I've just been up to Matalan and Home Bargains but they didn't have any there and now I don't know what to do...the white script crock in Argos is in stock and I have just reserved the last one to be safe but I don't know how big these things are?
HELP...I'M CONFUSED!

bread crocks are usually pretty small especially when you make your own bread, i make big loaves and they wouldnt fit in a crock, and if they did, nothing else would,
why not buy a pack of the wee wooden knobs you get for small drawers, they are cheap, screw them into the bottom to make little bun feet on yours, air would circulate underneath and stop the mold growing
having said that, i had a roll top one, and it did drive me nuts0 -
We keep our bread in a cupboard these days, I like to keep the worktops clear of clutter.
We used to have a stainless steel brabantia bread bin when we stayed in our flat though, nice and easy to clean as it just slid back.
will have a google and see if I can find one like it.
I think you need a front access one though, the lidded ones look pretty but I can imagine the kids would bring the crock forward, scratch the worktop in the process then walk away and leave the lid off.:pMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Maybe I should 'pimp my bread bin' like on 'pimp my ride' hahahaha! :rotfl:
At least it would look prettier and still be big enough for everything! :TWhy does my dog chase cars? Even if he caught one he hasn't passed his test!0 -
I have this Brabantia one:

It's pretty big, and easy to clean. It also has a flat top so you can keep stuff on the top of it.0 -
Ooh perhaps you could paint a nice colour (personally I would go for duck egg blue... wishful thinking about my own kitchen!) and paint the word 'bread' on it in a pretty vintage font. Perhaps have a look on the shabby chic thread for ideas?0

I've not seen that range before - must be new? Loving the styling on it!"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -

I'm not a fan of bread bins at all. I didn't like any of the above. I think I'd rather go for a big plastic "cake saver" type of thing and possibly one of those contracting bread savers.
I like big square things that stack.
