In 2006 i had a disagreement with three mobile Refused to pay bill ect
(stupid in hindsight)
forgot about it upto now and have had a letter demanding £539.15p
the original outstanding ballance was £159 even with inflation this is only £178 i know the debt collection agency has to make sure profit but
£380 seems a tad eccesive to me
I understand i need to settle this debt
Would i be able to get them to lower this amount?

Hi
Quite likely they will accept quite a bit less.
First I would suggest writing to them asking them to provide a breakdown of the balance they say you owe. Once you have that you'll be in a better place to negotiate.
If you are trying to get them to accept a reduced full & final settlement - this factsheet is worth a read - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=24_full_and_final_settlement_offersA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
it maybe the remained of the contracts line rental?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
