Keeping wasps away?

Whenever I have my windows open, wasps fly in and I'm terrified of them!

My room gets too stuffy and hot if I have the windows closed but I don't want to have to spend the whole time I'm in there avoiding wasps.

Is there any (cheap and easy!) way I can deter them from coming in?

    Hi tetra-xo,

    I use a jam jar or old water bottle half filled with water mixed with a little jam (or anything else that is very high in sugar). If you leave it outside the sweetness will attract them and hopefully they'll be trapped and won't come into the house. There is more advice on these threads on the Greenfingered board:
