Portal 2 PS3 cheap way to get it for PC?

I'm aware that Portal 2 for the PS3 is being advertised as coming with a free license to play it on PC/Mac.

My question is, can anyone confirm how it has been implemented?

Does the PS3 boxed copy contain an unlock code that can be redeemed through the PC Steam client?
Can the two licenses be redeemed on two different steam accounts?

I've found a PS3 unboxing video that appears to show an unlock code printed on a paper slip inside the game box. Is this the PC/Mac redemption key?

If this is the case, what is stopping people buying it for the PS3, using the PC redemption code, and then selling the PS3 copy to the likes of CEX?

  • Found this article explaining the process.
    1. Give the STEAM voucher code to your friend
    2. Either make a dummy PSN account or have his PSN account activated on your PS3.
    3. Play the Portal 2 PS3 disc on your PS3 using his dummy or his PSN account
    4. Press SELECT to open STEAM while playing Portal 2.
    5. Link his PSN or dummy account to the Steam account he has.
    6. There ya go, you can now play together!
  • Finally managed to get onto the PSN, and perform the necessary registration stuff to redeem my Portal 2 PC license.

Bought Portal 2(PS3) for £29.99 (-£0.59 cashback) delivered from HMV
Sold Portal 2(PS3) to Gamestation (who did a price match+£1 with CEX) for £27 cash + £2.03 of loyalty points.

    Total cost for Portal 2(PC), £0.37 :D

    It was worth persevering with!

    :edit:

On a side-note Gamestation appear to be giving bonus loyalty points for both purchase and trading in of Portal 2.
I guess the points for trading in is an unintended glitch.
