Morning everyone, Just a quicky here

I received a letter from a debt company this morning . I called them and made an offer. She then told me it wasnt enough. I told her this was too much and she told me that if I fill out a financial statement for my household, and send it back, they will see what they can do.

Thanks in advance.:)

First of all, you need to stop speaking to them on the phone. Request they put EVERYTHING in writing to your home address, and respond to everything in writing, that way you have a papertrail and proof of everything said between you. You are well within your rights to request this method of communication, so don't let them fob you off.

Secondly, you're under no obligation to return a SOA. The only way they can force you to provide details finances is by going to court. If all you can offer is £10, then that is all you can offer. Keep reminding them of this and don't let them bully you into paying more.
  • oh really? I had no idea. Ok I will request this method of correspondence from now on. Thanks =]

If they don't adhere to the verbal request, send them this:

    Dear Sirs
    Harassment by telephone

    Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)

    Yours faithfully,
