For past 7 years have had an Asda store card, which allowed ATM transactions. Yesterday was told (after being on hold for 20 mins) that cash withdrawal was limited to £100. Tried last night and was refused, so after being kept on hold to-day for 35 mins was told cash transactions are no more allowed, the card is only for in store purchases. Was also really angry that I was talking to India, who did NOT have the UK tel no. for Asda head office? huh?

I'm not sure its clear what question you are asking, your initial post just seems to be a statement not a question, which might be why nobody has been able to offer advice.
If you can rephrase it so people know what you are asking or what you want advice on that might be helpful.

I think OP is saying can you not use an Asda store card to get cash out of an ATM.

Some people, can with certain other store cards, such as Debenhams and Burtons (I can't with mine). I assume as the store card use to be issued by GE Money, that Santander now backs the Asda card as well, so maybe they have changed the T&C's.

I know I received new T&C's for both my Debenhams and Burtons cards, with the well documented dormancy charge that they introduced, but seem to shy away from saying they will definately charge customers such a charge.

I can find nowhere online where you can now apply for an Asda Storecard, only a credit card, so maybe they are phasing them out.

I agree, the original post was rather nebulous.

    What else did you expect?

Asda is part of Walmart, after all.
