if you are going to be homeless you should look on the directgov site to see if you can get help from your local council housing, :)

It can be difficult to rent during BR as a lot of letting agents just don't like us. Always best to sort it out before you go BR if you possibly can.

I am going through something similar although not filed for BR (yet) and asked a letting agent the hypothetical question to which she said that if something comes up on your credit check we will just ask for a guarantor and they will have to have the credit check so if you have a guarantor just in case then it could be fine.

I think Shelter might be able to help with how to go about telling letting agents etc..Might be worth a call as they seem to have a lot of info and might even be aware of some agents that don't mind.

I was very lucky and found somewhere on gumtree, no credit checks or fees but please be cautious as anyone can advertise! :) you might also find a private let through your local paper...good luck
