if you are going to be homeless you should look on the directgov site to see if you can get help from your local council housing,Clarebear1 wrote: »I have just gone bankrupt and am currently in my own property on which i pay mortgage but this is going to be sold off and I need to find somewhere to rent asap. does anybody have any tips or know of letting agents that take undischarged bankrupts?

Hi ,
I emailed a few letting agents and they all said as long as your honest from the beginning it should be fine. i am just about to go bankrupt in the next few weeks and i will move in with my girlfriend in september, which obviously i was worried the bankruptcy.0 -
It can be difficult to rent during BR as a lot of letting agents just don't like us. Always best to sort it out before you go BR if you possibly can.When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

I am going through something similar although not filed for BR (yet) and asked a letting agent the hypothetical question to which she said that if something comes up on your credit check we will just ask for a guarantor and they will have to have the credit check so if you have a guarantor just in case then it could be fine.0

I think Shelter might be able to help with how to go about telling letting agents etc..Might be worth a call as they seem to have a lot of info and might even be aware of some agents that don't mind.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

I was very lucky and found somewhere on gumtree, no credit checks or fees but please be cautious as anyone can advertise!
you might also find a private let through your local paper...good luck 0
