Live in London. In our area, dog walkers charge anywhere from £10 - £25 an hour. It varies. You often see dog walkers out with 4+ dogs, so it is quite profitable for very short input of time.

As for having dogs stay over whilst people go away etc, the price around here tends to be £25/night excluding food, and people will charge more if you want them to include food.

    Hope that helps

However, I live in Hampshire and charge £8/hr for a dog walk and home boarding is £15/night. It depends a lot on the area where you live.

LOcal to me (East London) - around £12 per hour per dog for a group dog walk (up to 6 dogs), around £25 per dog per day for home boarding.

All dog walkers I know do both walking and boarding plus they run puppy classes in the evenings, just dog walking is not enough for a decent income, even if you walk them few at a time. Also some places do have limits on how many dogs can you walk together on/off lead so please check where you are.

Usually just 2 walks per day (11-12 and then 1-2) as the pick up/drop off dogs takes quite a while before and after each walk - cost of petrol, cars breaking down etc etc. Peaople do not need their dogs walked any time of the day, that is why normally they can only do 2 walks (lunchtime) per day - weekdays only.

All dog walkers I know have a lot of experince with various dogs, hold various dog behaviourist / trainer certification, are insured etc etc.

It is NOT an easy job, you need to know a lot about dogs, how to make sure the group you walk matches temperament wise ets, how to break up a fight (that CAN happen) safely for both dogs and yourself etc etc.

I look after my friends dogs for free, including this one. They are labs, so they are lovable enough when inside, but can be hard work when walking out, always scavaging for food and dashing for (often muddy) water at every opportunity!

I'm thinking of doubling my fees for all that hard work!

I take them to a dog meeting about 4pm. They all generally get on unless their are two competitive males, then there can be trouble. Most owners with such dogs simply don't bring them, but all the dogs are usually tolerant of my two !!!!!es.
