I bought an mp4 player through advancedmp3players.co.uk for around £50. Although not 'top of the range' it does everything I want it to do and looks pretty good with it. Im pretty sure I went through quidco with this site also. Hope this helps'Normal' is a dryer setting.0

lol no i dont think your dumb at all - we have to learn somewhere and I still have no idea lol.....but I wanted something that I could listen to music on, that held enough tracks that I had a good choice, but didnt have to scroll through hundreds to find the one song i felt like listening to, and that looked good without looking expensive and pretencious (sp.??) and didnt cost me an arm or leg.....so i bought one called Sumvision Yumi i think it called and is just under £50.... im actually pleased with it.....its smallish - has fm radio - can store your photos on it - plays the tracks i put on it - and i also think you can voice record on it but havent used that yet if you can -.....only thing I did do was get another set of headphones as the ones you get are ok but a bit naff lol.....hope this helps a bit'Normal' is a dryer setting.0

If you can squeeze an extra tenner I'd say this looks to be a bit of a bargain:

Sorry, doesn't do video I don't think - missed that bit of your post!0 -
yes, it definately has to be able to do video, but mp3s will be used more often.
I am really struggling with this, as i don't want to ask him and spoil the suprise.
Thank you for your help, any more ideas greatly appreciated....
