Default advice please

Hi,
I am not sure if I am in the right area but really hoping for some advice. I have been with payplan for nearly 6 years now for total debts of around £53k, which I have managed to get down to around £40k. The majority of this is with Lloyds through a number of accounts.
The smallest lloyds debt is on an overdraft account or around 2k and is the only joint account with my wife. All the accounts have had defaults registered 5-6 years ago bar this one which they have registered last month. The account has been over the limit with only £5 pm paid since 2005. They wrote recently saying that we have defaulted on the account. When I spoke to them they said it is a minimum of £50 a month to avoid credit file being affected. I said we already pay payplan as much as we can across all accounts.
I am hopefully going to be in a position later this year to make full and final offers on all accounts. I was hoping that as defaults take 6 year to go that next year I would have a clear file.
I guess this is a ploy by lloyds to screw my file up for as long as possible, is there anything I can do?
Thanks.
