If you googled it I very much doubt you got the right answer.
I now know the answer and I can tell you it seems a slightly odd way of doing it and its not that simple ie. its not a specifed amount you have to have paid in NI nor is it that you have had to have worked for 2 full years. If you can post the correct answer I will give you a 'Thanks'. I just want to know if you do actually know the answer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Luckily, I couldn't give a flying fig about 'thanks' or about proving anything. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
using capitals comes across as shouting plus was it needed
i actually dont care if you criticised the job centre staff, the staff i have met were actually quite good, maybe the staff didnt the answer themselves so hardly they're fault is it,
20 phone calls when you could have submitted a claim for job seekers in under 20 minutes(you never said in the first post you had applied for job seekers)
That message was not directed at you. Anyway you say 'capitals comes across as shouting' well yeah that was the point as I was showing my disgust at the jobcentre.
You said you don't care that I criticised the jobcentre staff and then you go on to defend them by saying its not their fault that they do not know the answer to a question which should be basic knowledge of all jobcentre employees. If they do not know how to process an application then there is something seriously wrong.
I submitted my application 2 weeks ago I have had no confirmation of anything yet so I do not think your specified 20minutes is at all accurate in getting an answer to my question. Plus even if they had accepted my application in 20minutes that would not have answered my question as I specifically wanted to know the qualifying criteria.
Not really sure why you are sticking up for people and hinting that I am lying about how useless these employees are just because all the employees you met were wonderful. In future try to help answer peoples questions instead of spreading you love of the job centre. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Oh well your missing out on a 'Thanks' then I bet if you are honest you are devastated.
I thought you might have been one of those sad people that come on here to get 'thanks' tokens, whatever they are.
Oh well shame you didn't know the answer. :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

HAHA very funny. My attitude? When you have been on the phone for 4 hours trying to find out the answer to a simple question what do you expect? Wow I used capitals, I am soooo sorry that offended you. Also I am sorry if I offended you because I criticised employees of the jobcentre for not doing their job properly. Maybe you work there and you are on strike today.
Plus I now know the answer, finally after 20 phone calls. I would not be surprised if you did not know the answer, the only person that knows is the woman I just spoke to.
You obviously never dealt with Student Finance, have you?0 -

i never hinted you were lying at all, you just made that up
im not sticking up for them, im just saying you shouldnt tar them with the same brush which is what u have done
i said you can get an application completed in 20 minutes, i got a response in under a week for my claim0 -
And I'll think you'll find that Jobcentre staff DID NOT STRIKE today, just the staff in the contact centres......
Get your facts right BEFORE you start to be abusive towards people
xx Oops!! Should I have posted this??? Some users don't think I shouldn't be offering advice due to my occupation!!!

People in Jobcentres don't actually process benefit claims, so a lot of the time will not know much about processing; as that is done in the benefit delivery centre. When you call, the person you will speak to is in a call centre, and they receive only basic training about how to look up details like what payments have been made, so they do not know how to process claims either. Even the processors do not need to know about how much NI you have to have paid because once the claim has been registered, the entitlement is calculated automatically by the system. They are often just doing data input. There are some specialists or people like myself who have worked a number of years and do have the knowledge or experience to deal with the enquiry, but by no means all of them do, and those are getting fewer as numbers are being cut.0

I wouldn't mind knowing the answer.
