I am going to get a years salary at the end of July (voluntary redundancy), and I'm currently looking at different savings accounts, ISA's etc... but I wondered whether anyone had been in this position before and whether it would be worth me trying to get a better current account?
I am discharged, have been for 4 years but obviously it still shows on my credit file.
If I have a large amount of money, would the banks look more favourably on me or should I not even bother?
Thanks,
Jo

What do you call a better current account, and what do you want from it?
As to regards your money ,that depends on if you have another job to go to and is the money going to be saved or will you need it for everyday spending?0 -
Well at the moment I only have a basic Co-op one, and I've just been looking and there are bank accounts which pay quite good interest, and come with a cheque book for example. I plan on getting another job, so at first I will be using it but I do want to save most of it.0
