NatWest Step Acc

Hi...

I was discharged in Jan 2010 but NatWest still declined my recent application for a Step Acc. I submitted a paper application which was manually processed (as their systems automatically decline applicants with br.)

My credit files have been cleaned up and my name also appears on the electoral register... So perhaps it was because an RBS debt was included within my br?...

Has anybody been able to get a Step Acc after discharge with NatW/RBS being a previous creditor?

Any comments would be appreciated!

I don't think they're known for being br friendly. Have you tried the co-op or barclays bank? Good luck.

Some people have been successful, but it is quite hit and miss unfortunately.

I think someone posted recently that full current accounts can be difficult to get until the BR drops off your credit reports. But as Dojo sys, some people have managed to get one.

Did you provide a copy of your discharge documents with the application?
Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion :p

Thanks for the response. Yes I did provide a copy of my discharge certificate.
