When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :D

Hi everyone

Hi to all those lurkers out there too - why don't you post with us???! :)

Here's me:
  • Brekkie at home
  • Finish library book at lunch time and take it back - no fines for this little lady
  • HM lunch to work - no sandwiches, y'all hear!
  • Pennies in the pot
  • Check banking  - 3 days till payday :T
  • Night in catching up with some tv and maybe a bit of yoga
  • Make chiropractor appt
  • Look for cheap but pretty bday card for mum
Happy Monday everyone.

Didn't get round to posting on here over the weekend, was really busy  Managed to catch up with all of the washing and ironing/cleaning/cooking/shopping etc etc :j Oh and I finally managed to get to the tip! :rotfl::rotfl:

Off to work today, so just a small list for me :)

Heating was off all weekend (just put it on for an hour though as house chilly this morning ) Will turn it off again now
need to iron DS bed sheets
    checked internet banking
all of my plants are outside to harden off before planting outside
    all food from stores

Hope you all have a fantastic day :D
  • Good morning everyone. Thanks to La E for starting us off. I was just wondering whether I ought to start the thread today...

I've got my usual Monday morning "I don't want to go to work" feeling. I just need to get myself dressed and moving and I'll be okay :o

    So far I have:
    • run DW overnight on Economy 7
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • made a lunch to take to work
    • fed and watered the chickens
    I will also:
    • charge mobile at work
    • walk/read at lunchtime
    • meals from stores
    • have an NSD
Oh dear, not much is it? :rotfl:

I'll probably do much more than that but I can't think of other things right now.

    Morning all,

Thanks for starting us off today Stitchy

    Today I have/will
    • Will try for a LSD – need to buy something cheap for lunch and a mega cheap acceptance card for a friends reception in June
    • Will look for ways not to spend any money for the next couple of months – I have a real urge to be DF this time next year
    • Need to lock my debit card away…hopefully will have £10 left on payday eve, which I would like to put into my debt free ISA
    • Look for MS jobs
    • Checked my online banking
    • Think positive today
    • Will try not to eat any sugar coated, chocolate flavoured rubbish from the vending machine – Bought in more fruit and yogurt today
    • Dinner from store-cupboard (don’t really fancy breakfast)
    • Used railpass to get to work
    • Read newspaper online
    • Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
    • Enter comps online
    • Washing on a quick wash 30 degrees
    • Have a chilled night in (with an early night) as I am really tired! – didn’t sleep very well last night (work issues) – when ever I am stressed/cant sleep, I think that I am by a river and put any ‘issues’ into boats and watch them float away….tried this last night and it didn’t really work…I ended up shooting the boats and they all drowned!
    • Need to cancel the phone insurance (sold the handset) – must do this as cancelled the DD last week
    • Work through my CCCS budget as due for a review
    • Need to decide whether I want to go to London to take part in the wedding festivities…..or, I could stay at home and put £50 towards my debts (hmmm, need to break the news to my boss who is arranging the trip to London)

    Take care everyone

    Hello All,

I have that exhausted Monday morning feeling today, hopefully I will shake it off by lunchtime :-)

I will be doing the following:

    - check banking (have road tax to pay for by end of the month)
    - transfer money from Paypal to my bank account
    - look for surveys
    - have leftovers from last night for lunch
    - charge phone at work
    - do yet another load of washing on the economy cycle (the pile is never ending this week!)

    Have a good day all,

    Jules
