worrying over "what if's"

So far so good..
Got the new Bank Account, moved all the direct debits over & changed my pay details to my new account. My file with the company I'm using is complete & I'm waiting for a draft proposal.
My nagging doubt is if the wages dept mess up and pay my money into my old account. Its with RBS, and has disappeared off my internet banking log-in. My loan account is still there, only cos I've not missed a payment I'm assuming (think that will disappear as of tomorrow).
The deadline for pay alterations for this month was 6th April, I put my new details in online on 4th April - so really everying should be OK...But what if it's not? Would there be anything I could do to retrieve my pay from the old account, or will they keep it and use it against my overdraft?

Is there anything else you can do before the wages go in? Sounds not. You have done what you can. I would try not to worry about the 'what if' and wait and see.

Thanks...
I know that I was well before the deadline..It's all done on line, so you can't actually check it's gone through or speak to anyone..we usually get our payslips a few days before payday, but with all the Bank Holidays coming up I'm not sure I'll get even that little bit of notice.LHS No 2220 -
You might be able to check online. Our pay system is all online and you can see your payslip a few days before pay day (after they have done the pay run). Worth a peek.0

Thanks for the tip Foggy..tried that though & all I can access is my current bank details, and if I want to change them. Can't actually access my pay details.
If there's no hiccups then me entering my new details 48hrs before the deadline should be OK - suppose I've just got to stop fearing the worst!!!LHS No 2220 -
'Twas so much easier when you used to get cash in a little brown envelope !!!!0

You're not wrong there Foggy!!!!!LHS No 2220

One thing you will notice, Teeters, is that, once your IVA is approved, dealing in cash is so much more satisfying in a funny sort of way --- just safe in the knowledge that it is all paid for, there and then! Although I have a debit card with my (new) bank I only use it to draw my allowances out at the beginning of each month, then everything is done in cash.0

Even these last couple of weeks I've been soooo careful, with no OD or credit cards to fall back on it's definately been 'do I NEED it' rather than 'that looks nice, I'll get one'.
Just need to get through the next weeks, hopefully get my IVA approved, and begin to get everything back on track...Am sure the wages thing will be fine - am just a bit of a control freak, don't like relying on others to do things...Pity I wasn't so controlling over my finances :cool:LHS No 2220 -
