glasses, who has good range/price on highstreet

I have been wearing glasses for years and until the last few times have always opted for specsavers (2 for 1 and decent price but I have not always liked choice of frames). Last time I went to vision express (liked the choice of frames but really didnt like the price, but as my glasses had broken as they made them within the hour it was a small price to pay, but last year I bought a pair of sunglasses and they charged me extra for the hour service). Can anyone else reccomend other high street opticians? where do boots sit in terms of price/choice...how much is an average pair of glasses with lenses in boots, do they take ages to make them? what about other providers?
