I would just like to applaude all of you currently helping out parents who are in debt....you really are amazing!!
I always think its up to the parents to look out for their kids (mine never did you see) but so many of you are sorting out families debts for them, this is just an appreciation thread I guess.
How do you cope with your own issues? Do you get equal support or do you find it emotiaonally draining as you are dealing with a loved ones finances?
Give yourselves a huge pat on the back!!:T

I think generally, as parents you expect to have to help your children (adults) out of difficulties, this should be also applauded but it is something that most parents do, and a choice they make when their child is concieved (supporting them for their life emotionally and sometimes financially too)
However for a child to support a parent, well that takes something very special IMO, as traditionally it is normally the other way around.
Well done to you too Kevin!Lightbulb moment 27-11-06

My in-laws support us with the time they spend with their children and particularly their grandchildren; just as valuable as money IMHO.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
