Buy now or wait for January Sales?

Hello,

Im just looking for everyone's or anyone's ;-) opinion on if it is wise
to buy now or wait until after Xmas.

Im looking to buy a 32" HD LCD TV. I have seen one today in Curry's.digital, its a Samsung priced at £799.00. (I need one thats good for use with Xbox360)

Should I buy now or wait until after Xmas?

Thanks

If you look at the discounts board you can get your tv for £600 odd quid, why wait for the sales, spend it while you have it:beer:

As a general rule, electronics will drop in price rather than rise. So yes, your telly will be cheaper after Christmas. However it will then be a bit cheaper in February, and cheaper still in March. The best time to buy electronics is always tomorrow!

Basically, if you want it now and have the cash now then buy it now.

If I was buying an expensive telly at ANY time I'd find it in Johnlewis then look for it cheaper locally in somewhere like Richer sounds. Then I'd get Johnlewis to match the price because Johnlewis give a 5 year guarantee on all their tellys. If you don't want them to pricematch then you can buy online and go through quidco.com for an extra discount.

Dont bother buying HD yet... the format is settling down and there are not many true 1080i HD screens on the market. basically they cut the hd signal down slightly. Personally im waiting to see which HD format on the DVD side comes through. HD-DVD or blue ray. I'm guessing blue ray will be the clear winner, then i'll choose my HD tv accordingly

I think Blue Ray is going to be the old beta max
